Words

E giochi con l’acqua, giochi con l’aria, bianca come spuma tu sei

Sei cresta dell’onda, odore di iodio, salto di delfino in scìa

Sei cresta dell’onda.

Candies

The song, composed in 1995, is the oldest in the album. It was built in Windows 3.1 using a MIDI sequencer called “Musicator” and recorded on the TASCAM Portastudio 4-channel tape recorder. Later, in 2003, it was brought to Sonar 1 and I added some newer virtual drums. So, don’t’ complain if I have few candies here! At that time I had little space to fit all on a 4-ch mix..

The song has a very oriental concept, expressed also in the instruments. See for example the China-like part for the EMU Proteus keyboard:

The original drum was a very flat electronic drum, I completely reworked on that in 2003. Here is the hihat-ride-crash part in the second verse, put in the front for you:

List of instruments

Voice and background voices;

Piano: Yamaha Clavinova;

MIDI programming to EMU Proteus for bass, percussion, oriental sounds;

The midi drum programming controls a virtual sampler:  a free new 2006 sampler is the Mexican PAAX 2:

I grabbed the cymbal sounds from a special issue of Computer Music back in 2003, but there’s many on the web.
